Every great magic trick consists of three parts or acts.

The first part is called "The Pledge".
The magician shows you something ordinary: a deck of cards, a bird or a man.
He shows you this object.
Perhaps he asks you to inspect it to see if it is indeed real, unaltered, normal.

But of course... it probably isn't.

The second act is called "The Turn".
The magician takes the ordinary something and makes it do something extraordinary.

Now you're looking for the secret... but you won't find it,
because of course you're not really looking.

You don't really want to know.

You want to be fooled.
But you wouldn't clap yet.

Because making something disappear isn't enough; you have to bring it back.

That's why every magic trick has a third act, the hardest part, the part we call "The Prestige".

Both equally awesome movies !

Ever since I've read the book, which I really really loved, I have been anticipating to watch the movie.
Though the dvd has been sitting on my shelf since May, I've been so busy and caught up with other things.

But.... YAY ! I finally found time to watch the whole movie! hip hip hooray!

Psssst...I Love You !I liked the movie.
Notice the word 'like', which is not the same as 'love'.

Well, in the movie they did change a lot of details.

Holly's family background was changed,
Daniel's not as charming as described,
the way of delivering the letter was different and
there's the whole Gerry's fortress part which I cannot recall any of it from the book.
And, I do not remember that both sides of their families objected their relationship so badly, to the extend of hate. =(

I think I should read the book again.

Despite of all the changes, I still enjoyed the movie.

and I never realised how much I liked the Irish accent.
They start speaking and I was like, Ooooo... o.O

*no wonder I loved Westlife when I was younger, didn't realised that I loved them partially due to their accent* hehe


Denise (Lisa Kudrow), Holly (Hilary Swank) and Sharon (Gina Gershon)

Its kinda weird for me that Sharon, Holly's supposedly bestest girlfriend,
was so absent in Holly's life during the movie.

As for Denise, Lise Kudrow made her rock wei!

haha..I really love the way Lisa Kudrow acts.

Gerry's best mate, Irish William.
Don't really remember him from the book, but he sure makes the movie nicer.


The rude and too straight forward Daniel.
Erghhh, I've imagined him a lot better looking and more classy when I was reading.
But in the movie, he was just ..Eeeeee!
I'm just so glad he did not take Gerry's place with Holly.

There you go.
My short review.
Short enough that it won't spoil the movie much,
but long enough to warn about the possible letdowns. =P


By the way, I've also watched My Super Ex-Girlfriend.

I would rather hide my face in shame and migrate to Planet Deijogpewo, a planet far far away.
